FAQ

Find answers to common questions about EnerC USB Type-C rechargeable batteries, charging, compatibility, delivery, warranty and recycling.

1. About EnerC Rechargeable Batteries

What makes EnerC batteries different from traditional rechargeable batteries?

EnerC batteries use lithium-ion technology and feature a built-in USB Type-C charging port. This means you can recharge them directly with a Type-C cable without needing a separate external battery charger.

EnerC AA, AAA and D batteries also provide constant 1.5 V output for reliable performance in compatible devices.

How do I charge EnerC batteries?

Connect a compatible USB Type-C charging cable directly to the charging port on the battery.

You can charge EnerC batteries from common 5 V USB power sources such as compatible wall chargers, power banks, laptops and vehicle USB chargers.

No traditional battery charger is required.

How many times can EnerC batteries be recharged?

EnerC rechargeable batteries are designed for up to 1,200 recharge cycles, depending on usage, charging conditions and battery care.

What battery sizes does EnerC offer?

Our current rechargeable battery range includes:

  • AA – 2000 mAh, 1.5 V constant output
  • AAA – 500 mAh, 1.5 V constant output
  • D Size – 4800 mAh, 1.5 V constant output
  • 9V – 350 mAh
  • CR123A – 650 mAh, 3.7 V
  • CR2 – 370 mAh, 3.7 V
  • 18650 – 2000 mAh, 3.7 V

2. Charging

How long do EnerC batteries take to charge?

Most EnerC batteries recharge in approximately 1.5–2 hours, depending on the battery model, remaining charge and USB power source being used.

Can I use my phone charger?

Yes. EnerC batteries can be charged from a compatible 5 V USB power source using the appropriate USB Type-C cable.

Can I charge EnerC batteries with a traditional AA or AAA battery charger?

No. EnerC batteries are designed to charge directly through their built-in USB Type-C charging ports.

Do not place EnerC lithium-ion AA or AAA batteries into chargers designed for conventional NiMH or NiCd rechargeable batteries.

How do I know when my batteries are fully charged?

The charging indicator on the battery shows its charging status. Indicator behaviour can differ between battery models, so please refer to the instructions supplied with your specific EnerC product.

Can I partially recharge my batteries?

Yes. Lithium-ion batteries do not suffer from the traditional memory effect associated with older rechargeable battery technologies, so you do not need to completely discharge them before recharging.

3. Compatibility & Performance

What devices can I use EnerC batteries in?

EnerC batteries can be used in many compatible household, business, security, outdoor and electronic devices.

Common applications include:

  • TV remotes
  • Gaming controllers
  • Wireless keyboards and mice
  • Children's toys
  • Cameras and photography equipment
  • Flashlights and headlamps
  • Security equipment
  • Outdoor and camping equipment
  • Compatible electronic devices

Always check the voltage and battery requirements of your device before use, particularly when using specialty batteries such as CR123A, CR2 and 18650 cells.

Why is constant 1.5 V output important?

EnerC AA, AAA and D batteries are designed to provide constant 1.5 V output, helping compatible devices receive stable voltage during use.

Can EnerC batteries be used in high-drain devices?

EnerC batteries can be used in many high-drain applications, but performance will depend on the device and its power requirements.

If you're unsure whether EnerC is suitable for a particular device, contact us and we'll help you check compatibility.

Can I use EnerC batteries in musical instruments or sensitive audio equipment?

Some sensitive audio equipment may react differently to lithium-ion batteries with internal voltage regulation. If you're considering EnerC for specialised audio equipment, please contact us before purchasing so we can assist with compatibility.

4. Battery Safety & Care

How should I store EnerC batteries?

Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture and conductive materials.

What should I do if a battery is damaged, leaking or swollen?

Stop using the battery immediately.

Do not charge, puncture, crush or continue using a damaged battery. Keep it away from heat and flammable materials and arrange for responsible battery recycling.

If the battery is within its warranty period, contact EnerC for assistance.

Can EnerC batteries be exposed to water?

No. Do not expose EnerC batteries or their charging ports to water or excessive moisture.

5. Warranty & Support

Do EnerC batteries have a warranty?

Yes. EnerC batteries carry a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturing defects.

The warranty does not cover misuse, neglect, unauthorised modification or normal wear and tear.

What should I do if one of my batteries isn't working?

Stop using the affected battery and contact EnerC.
